Malachite gets its name from a Greek word ‘moloche’, which means mallow, like the mallow leaves. Mallow leaves are fanned out and have few different tones of green color with spots in them. Malachite is a very popular and easily recognized semi-precious gem because of its many uses. Beauty: the way it presents the light and the dark bands of color. We rarely take the time to consider that crystals are alive.  We use crystals as companions to facilitate healing, and recharge our batteries, but how much time do we take to get to know our crystal friends?  Sometimes it is mind-blowing how much information one crystal is willing to share.  Othertimes we ourselves are so clustered with every day duties that we lose perspective on the truth, and only when we slow down and become centered will a crystal chooses to enlighten and embrace us.  Hollandite stars in quarts crystals are fantastic in taking us out of the realm of the serious and to a land of joy and fun.  The stars incased in a crystal are a brilliant expression of nature’s magic.  Not a single star alike and all are beautiful, like us, like every thing living.  How can that not make you smile?  Pull your crystal out and look at it, take a very close look, keep looking into the center of the crystal, go past the outside layers and look deep inside the crystal, and what do you see?  Is there clarity or a milky way?  Does your crystal resemble your heart, or partial fog and partial sunshine?  How do you feel as you hold your crystal?  Do you feel strong and mighty, or small and searching?  Keep looking, go and explore that feeling.  Flow with the crystal’s energy as it becomes mixed with your energy.  Your crystal is taking you on an adventure.  Bring me back a souvenir.

Copper is a much empowering mineral. It has the ability to teach you about the strength of your own energy, and it will assist you in resistance to weakness. Copper is also used as an energy conductor, and it also represents balance, power and strength within and around. This mineral is very good in purifying the spirit, healing of joint related body discomforts and is recommended to be worn as a bracelet for increased blood circulation, as is iron.

Moss agate is a nurturing semi precious mineral/gem stone. It brings healing and balance to every body part, and helps one find the strength within. As the balance is restored, one is able to have pleasent dreams. Moss agate is one of the stones that can be used in meditation to create a bridge of communication between human, animal and Mother Earth being. Moss agate can help an individual get through and clear internal blockages between self and soul.

I have used meditation as a way to program crystals. If you have never meditated before keep up with our blog as we will be having some posts on meditations soon. First you will need to start by clearing your mind, and sit in a quiet, comfortable location and close your eyes. As you start to meditate let your subconsious or higher self program the crystal for its higher purpose. This way you will know your true intentions have been programmed into the crystal.

I would like to start out by saying, one should be familiar with the crystals and/or mineral they tend to program.  Programming crystals should not be tried by a beginner. You should be in a positive state of mind when programming crystals. If you feel any negative energy on the crystal you intend to program, it would be a great idea to cleanse the crystal first. The moonlight is a great way to recharge crystals. All you have to do is place the drained crystal and/or mineral outside, where the moonlight will hit it for a couple of hours.

Dried herbs are probably the gentlest way to cleanse your crystals and/or minerals. You can experiment on what herbs work best for you. A few examples that I have used are: sage, frankincense, rose petals, sandalwood, clovers, daisies, and comfrey. Just lay your stone into a bowl and sprinkle the dried herbs over the top. You can reuse the herbs a couple of times on the crystals then you can use them for aromatherapy. You get a double use from the herbs.

You can smudge crystals with a few different types of things like: sage, sandalwood, cedar, and sweet grass.  There are many other herbs and incense that can also be used. Simply light the smudge material the blow it out. Hold the crystal and/or mineral in the smoke that is created. Depending on the smudge material used, this will help to cleanse, charge, and protect your crystals and/or minerals.
